AlyxMUN Innovation Cup

About the innovation cup

For The AlyxMUN Innovation Cup we will host multiple workshops educating and informing students to ideating solutions regarding Waste Management, Access to Healthcare for Refugees, and Solving the Housing Crisis. Students will form teams of no more than 5, and they will collaborate to combat these issues with practical solutions. These students will be provided training throughout these workshops from our Board of Educators. The Teams will create a video as their final submission for The AlyxMUN Innovation Cup. These videos will be uploaded on our website, and students may use these to form their prospective resolutions in the MUN.

Laila is a well-known at the media as Laila Rahhall and she is the founder and president at Business Gate and Business Gate USA.  Business Gate is an international business developer opening doors for investors.  She is a business woman  and a resident in Dubai.  Laila is a business developer that connect businesses and helps in trading, franchising, opening business orders, making strategic partners and building offices in the country. Laila is a social leader and very active in the Non-Government Organizations including being the president at I AM AFRICA.

Lisa La Bonté

Global Entrepreneur & CEO of AYVF

Ms. La Bonté is the inaugural Secretary General (2010-present) of the United Nations Assocation UAE (UNAUAE), the Citizen’s Movement of the UN and the first UNA in GCC. Ms. La Bonté is a multi-faced global expat with a strong skillset in cross-cultural diversity, international entrepreneurship and foreign direct investment. Ms. La Bonté has advised, created, delivered, and sustained economic and workforce initiatives for/with World Bank, U.S. Dept. of Commerce, the U.S. Dept. of State NASA, Abu Dhabi and Dubai governments and under Executive Order of the White House. Ms. La Bonté is founder and CEO of UAE’s 16 year old Arab Youth Venture Foundation and holds a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a focus on geo-politics of Asia, an MBA from world renowned Thunderbird School of Global Management and a Master’s degree in Liberal Arts from Harvard University where she studied International Security and Journalism.

NEwton Lee

Educator, Author, Futurist and FBI Ambassador

Prof. Newton Lee is a computer scientist who is an author and administrator in the field of education and technology commercialization. He is the founding president of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit Institute for Education, Research, and Scholarships (IFERS) based in Los Angeles, California, and a 2021 graduate of the FBI Citizens Academy. He earned a M.S. in Computer Science from Virginia Tech and an honorary doctorate in Computer Science from Vincennes University. Lee has lectured at major universities including Massachusetts Institute of Technology and University of Southern California. His 200+ books and publications in 3 languages are in 6,700+ library holdings worldwide. He has been honored with a Michigan Leading Edge Technologies Award, two community development awards from the California Junior Chamber of Commerce, and four volunteer project leadership awards from The Walt Disney Company.

Dr. Abdul Haqq Baker

Academic & Religious Leader and Founder of Strategy to Reach, Empower and Educate Teenagers (STREET)

As a community and educational leader of more than 20 years, his academic qualifications and practitioner-based experiences have provided him with the unique position of merging previously parallel but separate professional pathways – education and youth intervention initiatives. 

Both areas provide theoretical frameworks and practical processes through which education is essential to the development and advancement of young people, making them better equipped and more resilient to many of the challenges they face today.
